UNDERSTAND US A LITTLE BETTER

YOU ASKED, WE ANSWERED

Whether you've been on a quad bike before or not, you're bound to have some questions about the experience and set up before arriving. We've tried to answer as many of your questions below but please get in touch if you're still not sure of anything. After all, we want you to feel prepared with the only thing being left to decide before you arrive is who you're bringing with you.

What should I expect?

One thing that's for sure, is you'll leave feeling recharged and refreshed for spending some time outdoors. All of our treks are instructor led and exclusive, so you'll always be surrounded by people you know. Our instructor will give you all the training you need to get the most out of your trek, ensuring everyone feels comfortable before setting off. You'll trek across parts of the 500 acres of land and see some incredible views of the Cotswolds with built in stop off points to capture those beautiful moments.

Do I need quad bike experience?

No, anyone can come and enjoy this electric quad bike experience, no matter whether you've ever ridden a quad bike or not. No matter your level of previous experience (even if that is none at all), our experienced instructor will provide some training to make sure you feel comfortable before starting out on the trek.

How do I choose the right trek for me?

All of our treks have been marked with challenge level indicators, these have been set based on the duration of each trek and ground covered. The longer the trek, the more physically demanding it is on your body. Do remember, all of our treks start with a practical training session where you'll gain in confidence and can always discuss any reservations you have with your instructor. If you feel more comfortable, you can always get in touch with us prior to booking and we can walk you through the best fit, based on your experience and ability.

Will you teach me how to ride a quad bike?

Absolutely, without a doubt. No matter whether you've been on an electric quad bike before, each trek begins with a training session to teach you how to control and ride the quad bike. You'll have the opportunity to ask our instructor any questions and we'll always make sure you feel confident before heading out.

What happens if I find it too difficult?

If after some training you still don't feel confident enough to complete a full trek across the land, all you have to do is let us know. Don't stay quiet and hope we notice, it's always best to let us know how you're feeling so we can adapt the trek or provide you with some additional training time. Remember, it's your experience so even if you decide you've had enough half way round, we can stop or change to a trek more appropriate in challenge.

Is it safe?

As well as everyone having fun, safety is our top priority. As with any physical outdoor adventure activity such as quad biking, there is always an element of risk. We do everything we can to remove risk, however removing all risk is impossible. If you follow the guidance of your instructor, you will feel safe and have fun. All of our instructors hold the necessary First Aid certifications.

What else is there to do nearby?

In the heart of the Cotswolds there is plenty to do nearby. Set within the Farncombe Estate there is plenty of other adventures to do onsite such as falconry, axe throwing, clay pigeon shooting and much more. There is also plenty of land to enjoy long walks, with maps available to guide you into Willersey, Chipping Campden and Broadway where you could always stop for a cream tea. For other local places to visit you can find more on our explore page.

Is there some where to eat and drink?

Yes, take your pick! Farncombe Estate has plenty of choice, from the Hook restaurant which has a sea-food inspired menu to the Lodge Lounge at the Fish Hotel which offers guests a lighter option. Alternatively, you could take a quick drive to Dormy House where you could choose from The Shed, The Back Garden and MO. The choices really are endless.

What happens if the weather is bad?

One thing we can't control that we all wish we could is the (unpredictable) British weather. We keep a close eye on the weather forecast but it's only in the event of severe weather where we deem it to be unsafe to go out, that we'll reschedule. The beauty about quad biking is that it can be enjoyed in the dry or the wet (some people often prefer getting stuck in and muddy). Unfortunately, we do not accept customer cancellations or rescheduling due to the weather, it's at our discretion whether or not we need to rebook due to weather. For more detail, please refer to our T&C's.

What should I wear?

Our best advice is wear something you don't mind getting wet or muddy, in other words...not your best outfit. Depending on the weather, you might leave the experience looking how you arrived. On the other hand you might leave caked in mud! If you do need to get changed (we strongly advise bringing a change of clothes and shoes), we have a private indoor area for you so there is no need to hop around outside or duck behind any bushes.

Can I bring my own helmet?

If you are a motorsport enthusiast and happen to have your own helmet, feel free to bring it with you. We're sure it will be fine but our instructor (if necessary) can ask you politely to wear one of our helmets provided if your own helmet doesn't meet our safety standards. After all, to us your safety is the most important thing.

Can I take my phone with me?

To ensure everyone's safety, all of our treks are phone free from the moment you start the training and safety brief to the moment you pull up at the end of your trek. While being away from your phone can be a scary thought, trust us it feels invigorating to be away from it for a while. You may choose to leave your phone behind or we can store it safely for you in our lockable safe within our locked unit. The instructor will always have a phone on their person, so no matter where you are on the trek we have contact with the outside world, should we need it.

Is there a toilet and somewhere to get changed?

Yes, when nature comes calling we have a toilet nearby for you to use. We also have an area for you to get changed of out your mucky gear and into to fresh clothes, one thing we can't control is how muddy or wet you might get. That's even more fun though right!

How old do you need to be?

Our fleet of quad bikes require the rider to be at least 16 years old. Please do bear in mind, the quad bikes do require a level of strength to be able to operate safely, so although the minimum age is 16 (for now anyway) we can if needs be refuse those of any age that are unable to handle the quad bike after completing the training session.

Can I cancel / reschedule my booking?

We hope not but if you needed to cancel your booking we ask this is done 7 days before your trek slot in order to receive a full refund. While the thought of going out in the cold and wet might be daunting, we do not accept this as a valid cancellation reason. In the event we have severe weather and deem it to be unsafe, we will contact you to reschedule. Again, any reschedules made by you should be made up to 7 days before your scheduled trek time.

What do I do if we have a larger group?

If you are part of a larger group looking to book this quad bike experience, don't rule it out. There are plenty of other things to do on the Farncombe Estate so we advise booking back to back slots and rotating. Why not have a group of you out exploring on quad bikes while others in the group let off some steam with some axe throwing. Get in touch if you are part of a larger group and would like us to help you organise a full day of activities.

Can I buy an electric quad bike?

The simple answer is yes, of course you can! If you like what you see and more importantly like what you've ridden then feel free to browse the range on our quad shop page and get in touch. What better way to 'try before you buy' than riding one of the electric quad bikes from the range during our treks.

Is electric as good as an engine quad bike experience?

Yes yes yes! We've had so many people tell us it's better (their words not ours). Electric quad bikes are just as fun, just as adrenaline inducing but they have the added benefit of being kinder to the environment and wildlife. Their silent nature also means we can provide you an experience like no other, riding through nature trails simply wouldn't be possible with a noisy and polluting engine quad bike.
